Lumo Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Lumo is built privacy-first. Your sleep is analyzed entirely on your own device. Lumo does not require an account, does not upload your data to any server, and never records or transmits your audio.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the Lumo sleep-tracking application ("Lumo", "the app", "we", "us"). It is separate from any other application published by the same developer.

How Lumo works

Lumo uses your phone's speaker and microphone as a contactless sonar sensor. It emits a high-frequency tone and analyzes the reflected sound in real time to estimate your breathing and movement. This processing happens live, on your device. Audio is never saved as a recording and is never sent anywhere.

Information processed on your device

Information we collect

None. Lumo does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers. We have no servers that receive your sleep data.

Permissions

Purchases

Your control over your data

Because everything is stored on your device, you are always in control. Inside the app you can:

Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data.

Children

Lumo does not collect personal data from any user, including children.

Medical disclaimer

Lumo is a wellness tool to help you understand your sleep. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you have concerns about your sleep or breathing, please consult a healthcare professional.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
